Meet your amazing 2017-2018 Tampa Palms PTA Board!
Feel free to contact us if you would like additional information.
Alexandra Castaldi – PTA President – President@TampaPalmsPTA.com
Hello Tampa Palms Families! Welcome back to school. I am serving as your PTA president for the next 2 years. I know what you are thinking. What person, in their right mind would willingly lose sleep to make flyers, spend many hours working on activities, work hard sorting through endless catalogs and promotional material looking for the perfect fundraiser in which no one really wants to participate? Here’s the deal. There is no way I could idly stand by and say, “Someone else will probably do it.” I, like you, want the best for my kids, and that includes the best education. The best education for all our students requires a coordinating effort from administration, teachers, students, and of course families. A good education also requires money, enriching programs, up-to-date instructional material, as well as the ever evolving, expensive need of technology. The PTA needs your money and your time to help support the programs that help your children stay healthy and make gains in the classroom. Being current with instructional material is vital for the children’s success.
It is up to our families to help supplement the costs that are incurred by our very own children. The school simply does not have the funds to do it alone. The PTA also acts as an ambassador for ALL students, making sure that each child has a voice and the opportunity to grow up and realize success.
It would be so easy to say that the PTA is just for stay-at-home-moms. Wrong! The PTA is for Families and schools to work together to create the ideal learning environment for all children. It is no wonder that the schools with the highest ratings also have the highest number of volunteers. So, this school year, I encourage you to get involved when you can, give donations when you can, and attend meetings and activities as a family when you can. When you have done all that you can, watch your child grow and develop into something amazing! Always feel free to reach out!
Caron Armatas – PTA Treasurer – Treasurer@TampaPalmsPTA.com
Welcome to this new school year parents, children and faculty. We are already getting into the swing of things and the achievements this year will bring! As a TPE veteran I know how important every bit of involvement is to the success of our school and therefore each child. There is never too little help in making a difference in the day to day success of our little learners.
Mandy Fannin – VP Membership – VP_Membership@TampaPalmsPTA.com
It is my honor to serve as the VP of membership, and as I enter my second year as a TPE parent, I can tell you firsthand that you will not regret the time, energy and resources you pour into our school and your child’s education. Your PTA Membership and participation helps to earn awards from the county, state and national PTA. Earning these rewards means receiving monetary and essential item rewards for our school. Your PTA membership is also instrumental in paying for classroom supplies that directly support our children. Our PTA has shined over the last 20 years with 100% Membership and Golden Grandparent Award. We were also awarded the National School of Excellence! Our grandest award however, is the fact that we make a difference in our children’s lives EVERYDAY! Please help us make a difference for our children. Join the PTA!

Jeanine Ernst – Parliamentarian – Parliamentarian@TampaPalmsPTA.com
Hi! I’m Jeanine Ernst and I serve as the PTA Parliamentarian, an Executive Committee (EC) and board position who is appointed by the President. I keep order in EC, Board and General Assembly meetings. I oversee that quorum is met so that business may be conducted. Parliamentarian also ensures that procedures are followed for orders of business (motions, votes, etc.) per Roberts Rules of Order. In addition to Parliamentarian, I also serve on the PTA Board as the All Pro Dad Chair. My husband Steve, who is the Huddle Captain, and I are humbled by the opportunity to grow the population of dads coming on our Tampa Palms Elem campus, and to encourage dads as they lead and love their families with what they learn from the All Pro Dad program. We are so grateful that National PTA and our own TPE PTA supports this national program at the local level. Steve and I have really enjoyed our 14 years at TPE. Our last child, Philip is in the third grade and loves the legacy that his three sisters left for him. We support public school, community, family and dads investing in and leading their families with character. Our All Pro Dad’s monthly meetings are a highlight for our whole family
